Yummy!! enough said

Strawberries filled with cheesecake and dipped in graham cracker crumbs.
My idea of guilt free..... it's mostly fruit and the main ingredient in cheesecake is milk, so it has to be healthy.... RIGHT?!?! :)

More pics of Kait's soccer game :)

Tristan's mom took some great pics of the team in action.... click below to take a look!

I love it when my kids smile like that :)
This is a Video her teachers made for us. I thought this was a great idea!!

How did I get so lucky?!?

So I posted earlier about how Kaitlyn said she wouldn't trade Alyssa for anything. Then later on she said how much she loved Brittany. This is as close to a modern day miracle as they come. They already have a true sibling rivalry. Well they aren't too bad, but they do not openly express their love for one another.

The true amazing thing came tonight, but first a little background. My kids have been saving every penny they find for over a year now. This is their Disneyland fund. We decided as a family that once we have enough money in change to go to Disneyland, we would take a week long family vacation to California and visit Disneyland. Any extra money they get has been going toward our fund. Mommy and Daddy even agreed to put all of our "spare" money towards it also.

So, this night we were all putting laundry away together (I know it's Sunday, but my kids needed their clothes). Kaitlyn found a 5 dollar bill on my bed and started singing "I have 5 dollars, I have 5 dollars." I explained to her that I needed that money to put in our adoption fund. She then asked me what happened about the Disneyland fund. I told her it was still there, and that we now had 2 funds. Following a short discussion about how long it would take to adopt "some" brothers and sisters, she said mom I would rather adopt a brother than go to Disneyland. We can go to Disneyland with our new brothers another year. All this coming from a 6 year old Angel. I do not know what has come over her, but I love it. She is a great child, but she is generally concerned for herself first and everyone else 2nd. She prayers often for her brothers that are waiting and urges me to move forward with the "process" almost daily. The Lord is paving the way, and miracle are occurring in my house each and every day... Already!

I'm not sure how I got blessed with 3 amazing Angels, but I know there are more out there waiting. I guess my children know also which makes this process so much easier on all of us :) Thank You Heavenly Father for all of our blessings!

Kaitlyn just said the cutest thing

This deserves a blog all to itself....

Kait was telling me a story.... she was pretending to be a puppy and Alyssa was playing with a stethoscope. when she was finished listening to Kaitlyn's heart she said "all done."

Kaitlyn comes in and tells me about this story. As soon as she is done telling me what happened, she says to me "She is sooo cute, I wouldn't trade her for nothin'."

I thought that was the cutest thing. At age 6 she already loves her 2 year old little sister so much.

I love my kids!

What an Awesome Saturday!!

The photos say it all in this blog...... The day started with Brittany's very first sporting event.

She is on a T-Ball team now.
This is a picture of her playing catcher. She gets to put the ball back on the Tee which she is very excited about. This is a very important job :)
Her cousin Ian is on her team.. This is him up to bat and his dad, Uncle Troy, is the coach (in the blue hat)!
Brittany, our little lefty, up to bat. She was so scared!
Well maybe she is a switch hitter?!? Uncle Troy helped since she was a touch nervous.
She is on her way to first. Run, Brittany, Run... this is some of what was heard from the crowd.
This is Brittany standing at 2nd base. Can you see she is focused on 3rd and ready to run.... Well that or that is where Ian is so she is focusing on one of the only familiar faces LOL
She gingerly walked from 3rd to home and touched home plate with the tip of her cleat. I told her next game she needs to run like she has a toy that Kaitlyn wants.... She practice on the soccer field later, and she is quite fast when she wants to be!
Team Cheer: Go Orange Team!
Teaching them to be good sports.... Although we won since we have 17 kids and they only have 10. In the league they are in every kid bats and every kids scores. I like that!
Next of for our fun filled Saturday is Soccer! Here is a pic of Kaitlyn posing! She is so cute!
In this picture she means business!! (Note: the goals are super small or Kait is super big lol)
Me with my soccer team... well 4 out of 6 anyways. Back row: Me, Kaitlyn (my daughter), Vickie Front row: Emily (my niece and Tristan)
Another pic of our team: Emily, Kaitlyn, me, Vickie, Tristan
Me coaching.... Emily and Tristan
Look at this girl go! She looks like she is having fun!!
Look at Kaitlyn leading the pack!! She is on her way down to score her very first goal of the season!!!! Go Kaitlyn!!! She scored 2 goals today!! I was so proud of her. (My mom bribed her with points.... let me be the first to tell you.... bribery works)!
Alyssa does not like to be outdone. SOOO, she decided to get the award for the best fall!! She did it right too. She got this sore on her head....
And this sore on her knee. She kept crying for the rest of the day.... I got an owie... over and over! I think between Kevin, Poppy, Grandma and me we kissed it better about 100 times. not exaggerating!
Please note the chips on the floor..... she made that mess right before I took this picture. (See Janae I told you :) She is always such a big helper like that!!

Today is one of the days that makes me so thankful to be a mother. Even with the scrapes and bruises, I wouldn't trade it for anything!!

Mother's Day and Alyssa's 2nd Birthday

We had originally planned to have Alyssa's Brithday party on May 7, 2011 since her actual birthday is on the 8th, but since that was Mother's day weekend and everyone had plans. We had to postpone it a couple of weeks.

So last weekend was pretty great. On Friday we went and spent some time at Kevin's grandparent's house in Bountiful. My kids call them Grandma and Grandpa GG (which stands for great grandparents). We generally go to their house on Friday evening. We had a nice visit, and took the opportunity to tell everybody of our plan to adopt. They were excited we were adopting, but not so fond of the idea of us taking on 2-3 older children. After a little discussion however they agree that this is a good option for us. We left there feeling loved and supported which was nice since we haven't had much support from family (except my immediate family and a few cousins.... you know who you are :).

Saturday started out like most of our Saturdays lately. We wake up, eat cereal for breakfast, and we get ready for Kaitlyn's soccer game. Kaitlyn's team did the best they have even done. We still didn't win (I say we since I am the coach... yay me lol), but they all tried hard which is all I can ask for. After the game, we came home and had lunch with Troy and Veronica and kids and headed out to Lagoon. We try to buy season passes every year, so we have a fun activity to do throughout the summer. We had a fun time there, but it was soooooo busy because it was the first "spring" day since it has opened. We left around 5 to go to our Mother's Day/ Alyssa's Birthday dinner. We tried a new place called Boston's pizzeria. They sang happy birthday to Alyssa who was barely awake. She crashed as soon as we put her in the car at Lagoon lol.

Doesn't She look Happy?!?

I woke up Mother's Day morning around 9:30 a.m. since their gift to me was to let me sleep in.
The girls came in holding cards they had drawn and gave them to me followed by lots of loves. They are the best gift any mom could ask for. Church was also great.

This poem was attached to a pedicure kit that also had those footprints with it. My kids were so excited to have a gift for mommy :)

We made a cake for Alyssa for her Birthday and took it to my grandma's house. My kids call her grandma with toys in the bedroom. She was so excited to see the kids. We couldn't light the Birthday candles since grandma is on oxygen, so Alyssa kept blowing at the cake like something was wrong. It was so cute and grandma was laughing. Grandma, poppy, grandma with toys in the bedroom, Kevin, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Alyssa, uncle Dave and I all sang and ate cake.

Like I said.... A great weekend!
