My Brittany is cute

This cute little face just walked out of her room 2 hours after bedtime for about the 10th time.

She looks and me and I just stare back at her (as opposed to yelling for her to get back in her bed).

That is when she starts her back handed compliment speech.

Mom, you are the best mom. Some times when you are being mean, you are not the best mom. But when you are trying to be nice like right now, you are the best mom.

I smiled, said thank you, and asked her to please get in her bed.... How could I yell after a compliment like that lol.

Almost a heart attack

My daughter just about gave me a heart attack!

Let me set the scene for you.. It is 1am. My kids are normally in bed early like 8 or 9. Around 10 or 11 we heard a weird noise. It was pretty loud and sounded like metal. I sent my husband to go check it out. He was back seconds later with an answer. It was just our older daughter kicking the metal rail on her bed....

I was on my way to bed, and I always check on my girls before bed. I looked in Alyssa's room. The fold out couch she insists on sleeping on was folded up neatly. She was not in her bed. I was not surprised.... She often sneaks into her sisters' beds to have a sleep over. I checked Brittany's bed first.... no Alyssa.... Then Kaitlyn's bed..... no Alyssa.... Panic is starting to set in. "Kevin, where is Alyssa." Kevin calmly says I don't know. We both started looking around... bathroom, our bedroom, toy room, girls room again.... 

When Kevin started to panic, I knew it was bad. I was just seconds from calling 911.... remembering the sound from earlier in the night. I just knew someone had kidnapped my baby.

That is when I saw her.... instant relief flooded over me....

 This hole is about a 12 inch square with only a 3-4 inch opening....I do not know how I saw her.

She was sound asleep too..... She had no idea the heart ache she caused her mom and dad.... I was just second from calling 911 when I say her precious face.

My husband asked me how in the world I found her.... My answer "The Lord"

From Happy to Sad in .5 seconds

My girls were blocking the door leading to the garage... saying "We're gonna stop daddy" Over and over. He was on his way to scouts and they did not want him to leave.... While they were chanting in the kitchen we snuck him out the front door......

 This is what their faces looked like when I told them. All happiness faded in an instant.

Yes, I am the mean mom that took the photos.... On the plus side, they had already given him hugs and kisses  before we tricked them..... Plus I let them call him on the phone ;)
Afterwards they said next time they will split up and guard both doors... My kids are too funny!

Stages

Kaitlyn age 7 is at the know it all stage of life...

No matter what you say to her, her response is "I know:

Kevin and Kait were doing her spelling words... Kev was trying to do her spelling words, and Kait said I know I know I know DAD!

Me: Kaitlyn it is okay not to know everything.

Kaitlyn: I know Mom

Me: Laughing.... 

Brittany age 5 is in the massive defiance stage.... She does the opposite of everything I tell her to do.

I'm thinking of trying reverse psychology, but haven't yet.

She is still super soft hearted too.... not a great combination.

Alyssa age 2  is a little combination of the 2.

She knows everything, is defiant as can be, and she is funny.

She is always and forever saying things that sound so funny coming out of her little body.

Today she was helping me do my hair (she is my little shadow), and Kevin walked in the room.

I asked who was there, and she looked around the corner to see..... When she saw Kevin, she said "Hey you close the door you crazy monster." We just laughed! She is silly and comes up with random things.

All in all I have some pretty amazing kids.

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

An awesome friend of mine was talking about how she was making Green Eggs cupcakes for her kids today to celebrate Dr Seuss Birthday. I thought it was a great idea... See, we were supposed to be on our way to Las Vegas for my nieces birthday party and my other nieces blessing, but last night Alyssa woke up gasping for air, so we had to rush her in to the doctor. She has a horrible case of croupe, and had to have a steroid shot. They didn't want her to be around other people for at least a week, so we had to cancel our trip :(

We thought a party was just the thing to cheer our girls up..... We had to do some solid green cupcakes too.... Kait said they were green ham lol

 Alyssa was too sick, so I did hers.

All the kids enjoyed them. I even took some over to my neighbor!

My sweet little day time child thought it was funny that she put Alyssa in the entertainment center.... Well until Alyssa kicked the door open and hit her in the face... ouch

These are the little things kids find funny.... Oh and yes I know we have too many toys and game systems.... sadly you cannot see the other 3 totes of toys.

Vegas and Kaitlyn's second mini birthday party

Kevin and his dad spent a lot of time sitting on their computers... I chose not to admit that I had my computer open in front of me when I took this pic lol. That handsome little boy is my nephew Gabe.

She got a do it yourself scripture case.....

  a miniature hymn book (I am so thankful that at 7 my sweet girl asks for scriptures, a scripture case and a hymn book.... she is so spiritual for only 7)

 Aunt Michelle, Uncle Marcus, SaraBeth, Gabriel and Mikayla got Kaitlyn a happy napper...... She loved it!!!!

When we got home, Kaitlyn didn't waste any time getting to decorate her new scripture case.
