Brittany had to report at 7:30 a.m. for her surgery.
She was scheduled to get her old tubes removed, get new tubes (better longer lasting ones) put in, get her tonsils out and her adenoids out..... A lot for a little girl to handle.
Poppy and Daddy gave her a blessing last night, and we had her all ready for today
(bathed, in comfy clothes etc)
She woke up happy as can be this morning..... We got called back at about 7:25 a.m.
She loved the cute little cow they gave her and the bracelet of course :)
A little love for the mom!!!
Snuggling with her cow! Then a VIP ride to the OR She loved riding in the
Wagon!! The anesthesiologist took her back and read her a story while she went to sleep.... I loved the nurse, the doctor, and the anesthesiologist!
I enjoyed (well as much as I could while worrying) a massage while I waited!
The doctor came out and said Brittany did great! She went right to sleep like a champ, they had no problems during the surgery, she was awake and breathing on her own already :) There was quite a bit of infection in her right ear, but he cleaned it all out and gave us some antibiotic drops!
About 5 minutes later we got to go see her.... She was very very sad :(
She was fighting sleep so there are not many pictures like this....
I was feeling pretty sick at this point so Poppy stepped in and took care of my girls for a bit!
Actually he never left... we would trade off spots, but he was great support for her!
A story to keep her distracted!
Not feeling so good!!
She got pretty sick so we had to change her bed and put her in a gown :(
She finally gave in and slept for all of 5 minutes..... if that!
They brought her a popsicle... Yellow of all colors!! she was too happy!! She kept saying how did she know. I honestly didn't tell her either.
The car ride home....
She gave a thumbs up saying she was doing well.... About 2 minutes later her breathing changed and she turned pale white..... to say the least this mom was SCARED!!!
We rushed straight home, got some fluids in her and laid her back down.... She is doing well now!
She was soooo brave the entire time!!!
What a trooper!! Hope she is feeling all better soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm so behind on your happenings! That's a lot of stuff she had done! I'm glad she's doing OK now. You've got one tough little girl. Randomly, Everette was wearing that same Dora backpack shirt they other day.
