On Saturday, I went with Dan and Cheri to pick up some hay for the horses. After we got it all stacked up in the barn, we rounded up all the horses and went for a nice long ride.
I have only ridden off the property one time before. This is all still very new to me. I put sun screen on the girls while they were out there, but I kinda forgot myself. It hurts... BAD!
We went riding for over an hour which is a long time for a novice like me (and my dad).
We were about half a mile from home when Daniel said how excited he was that we had all made it back with no accidents or injuries. We gently reminded him to keep his mouth shut since we weren't home yet....
This is what happened shortly after we got home.
It is hard to see, but I have a pretty big bruise (it got bigger after this picture was taken). Splash stepped on my foot while I was walking him over to turn him out. Normally, I would have felt it soon enough to move my foot, but my feet were numb from riding for so long (since I'm not used to it yet).
Did I mention he has shoes on?
On a side note.... Whoever thinks horse back riding is not a sport..... you are wrong! My muscles are so sore today. That was the best workout I have had in a long time! It turns out horses don't do all the work afterall :)
I feel your pain! We just got back from Bear Lake and I am roasted!
ReplyDeleteOuch! That doesn't sound fun.

A sunburn and your foot! That's a rough day. I got just roasted a few years back! It made me physically ill. You'd think I would have learned that lesson many years ago! :)
