A Mother's last words

Once upon a time in a land far away
A little boy was born, known as Adam today.

He was planned for and loved and wanted too
But soon that would change. Nothing he could do.

As the doctors came in and delivered the news
I don't know how they felt, I wasn't in their shoes

His world had changed in the blink of an eye
He was no longer what they'd planned for. Why?

He was still loved and wanted, but there was a problem, you see.
He needed a surgery and they couldn't pay the fee.

They made a hard choice and hated to go.
They visited the orphanage and told him so.

They loved him and wanted to help him get better some day.
They could not raise the money they needed to pay.

So all alone this baby lay
Alone in a crib every hour of every day.

One day a mom saw a picture of this boy.
She knew he was hers. Her pride and joy.

She struggled and fought to bring him home.
Along with him a brother would come.

They loved him more with each passing day.
They taught him to love. To laugh. To Play.

They Thanked Heavenly Father above.
For giving them an angel on Earth to love.

This sweet little angel, he's struggled a ton.
His parents, they knew, he was a chosen one.

He keeps getting sicker no matter what they do.
We know he will soon be called home to you.

I know, God, you love him more than I do,
but I sure wish he were not returning to you.

As I think of all the times you've had on Earth,
We've missed so many including your birth.

I would give the World to keep you here with me.
But I believe in God's plan. What will be, will be.

I'll tell you I love you as often as I can,
And when you take your last breath, I will hold your hand.

I'll miss you more with each passing day.
They'll be so many words that I'll want to say.

For now we'll stick with I love you.
Mom and Dad are proud of you.

I hope that we've shown you love and care.
And vanished any hate or fear.

Your sisters, they love you more than you know.
You've changed their lives, and it will show.

I'm thankful for the time that we've had.
Thankful that we could be your mom and dad.

My time as your mother on Earth is done.
I hope that you know, I love you son!

  2. I'm so sorry! Is Adam getting worse? Is there nothing the Drs can do anymore? He knew love in his short time with your family that's for sure! I bet that is worth it all. Praying for your family.
