The kids visit the fire station

Uncle Curtis (my sister Peggy's husband) is a volunteer fire fighter. He is now a captain. He took us on a tour of the fire station and let us play on learn about the fire engines.

 My babies.... ok they are getting big, but they were my babies.

 Josh had to get all dressed up too... He wants to be just like his daddy.

 Curtis got in his full gear to show the kids what a fireman would look like if there was ever a fire and they had to be rescued. Since becoming a fireman, he has learned a lot of safety things that he has passed on. Apparently a lot of kids hide from the firemen because they look scary.

 Kaitlyn was so interested in everything Curtis was doing.

 Curtis went to charge up the hose without making sure that it was turned off.... It started spraying right toward all of us... We all took of running. It was so funny!

 Curtis was showing the kids how the fire hose worked... Then he let them each have a turn shooting it.

 Kathryn decided to try to shoot me with the water while I was taking videos.... of course my 2 girls had to try that too ;)

Misc August 2011

These are just a few random photos I took during the month of August.

Kaitlyn refuses to eat her lunch at school because she doesn't want to miss out on play time.

This is her eating the lunch I prepared.... I guess I should be excited that she has so many friends to play with!

 Look how awesome my sweet Brittany is. I came in from taking the trash out and found her putting a new back in. Such a nice girl!

 I swear that Brittany owns a bed, but she is always sleeping on the floor.

Brittany's first "official" day of school

Brittany was very excited to have her first official day of school. Well until I opened the folder they had given us on the "orientation" day. There were 10 (yes TEN) pages of homework to be done. Sadly I didn't open the folder until Sunday night... (I was kinda busy dealing with heart problems and planing a funeral).

About 2 pages in she was not so excited about school anymore.

Luckily that quickly changed when she saw her classroom and teacher.

 They are supposed to sit at their desk and read until class starts.

 She is always such a ham!

 They made hero hats and home school made playdough.

She said she never wanted to go back after the first day.... She said that some of the kids were hitting her on the play ground.... Luckily after the 2nd day she was pretty excited to go back!

Heart Update

I went to see me doctor again today. I was supposed to get results tomorrow, but I am still 

very uncomfortable and in a lot of pain :(
When he came in he pulled up the report from my echo which he had just received. The first thing he told me is that my Left Ventricle which apparently pumps blood through my body is working very well. He said it is functioning at 75% which is actually really good..... He then told me that I have a valve that is "regurgitating." From what I understand this means the blood is going the wrong way through the valve....my Aunt says it is MVP (it could be any valve but the mitral valve is the most common). Basically there is nothing they can do to fix it. I will have it for the rest of my life and "attacks" can come on at any time and last for as long as a month at a time. They gave me some very strong muscle relaxers, anxiety meds and strong anti inflamitory meds (which should also ease the pain). He said the sooner we get the discomfort and anxiety gone the better :) If I have not gotten relief from the pain in 3 weeks, they will send me in for testing and may have to go in and "fix" it.
