Memorial Day weekend

Happy Memorial Day to everyone. I hope we all took advantage of this special holiday to remember those who have gone before us. Especially to honor those who died fighting for our freedom!

I thought this picture was a nice fit for a Memorial day post... This is a pic from the my grandpa's cemetery.

Friday, After a very LONG day (at a car dealership and credit union), we all got together for dinner at Garcia's. I love their food!!

Alyssa decided that grandpa needed help eating all those olives off of his nachos. She quickly changed her mind after grandpa talked her into trying a "green olive." It was a jalepeno, and she was not happy with him!
She decided she would just feed him after that!

Saturday, we took advantage of some family time. We had 22 people at Lagoon. Sandee, Randy, Laurie, Matthew, Abby, Geoff, Latasha, Nathen, Hailee, My mom (Downstairs Grandma), My dad (Poppy), Kev's Dad (Silly Grandpa), Kev's Mom (Silly Grandma), Troy, Veronica, Emily, Ian, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Alyssa, Kevin and I. We had a pretty great time until it started raining at about 7p.m.
This is a pic of Alyssa on one of the rides.
Hailee.. what a stylish baby.
All the kids waiting for the train... well almost all the kids (Abby, Matthew and Hailee are missing).
Choo choo. They are yelling that very loudly thanks to Silly Grandpa and Downstairs Grandma. I think I had a massive headache after this ride LOL
I kept telling my mom there was a turtle, but she never believed me LOL
She has been telling us for 2 or 3 years there was a turtle, but we just kept teasing her about it :)

Monday, I was sick, so I didn't make it to Grandpa's grave. I felt a little better on Tuesday, so we went to see his grave and take some pictures.

I love to see all the flowers on the graves... gone but not forgotten!
Lots of flags too. Thank you for your service!
Poppy, Grandma, Kaitlyn, Brittany, and Alyssa Visiting grandpa's grave.
I made someone take a pic of me. Grandma, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Alyssa and me (Mom).
We stopped by to see grandma with toys in the bedroom before we went home. She took herself off of oxygen, and she seems to be doing just fine!

Overall, we had a pretty great weekend. Of course it wasn't without some drama, but what do you expect when you get that many people together. We had some great family time. We got to play quite a bit of cards too which I love. I love playing games with family and friends :) When people remember me, I'm sure that is one thing that they will remember!

  1. I can't believe she ate a jalepeno! That would have been funny to see! Sounds like a great weekend, I'm glad you had fun! And I'm so glad to see that your grandma is doing so well :)
