Appendicitis :(

Well I had a really rough time going to sleep last night (Sunday) because my stomach was "upset." I was thinking it was just because we had our first appointment with our adoption case worker. I finally made my way to bed at 2 a.m. I tossed and turned for quite a while and even broke down and took some motrin. I woke up several times throughout the night in miserable pain......

I woke up at 7 a.m. to get the kids up and ready for school, but when I tried to get up I literally couldn't get out of bed. The pain was so horrible. I would even venture to say it is worse that the day after my c-sections when I wasn't on any pain meds. After about 40 minutes of working up the courage to fight through the pain I got out of bed and got my girls up. I said a quiet little prayer to myself to let me make it through this day..... My prayer was answered almost instantly. I walked out into the living room to find my amazing husband asleep on the couch. Work had been cancelled because of the rain. I have never been so grateful for no work ;) I climbed back into bed and left my hubby to get the kids ready for the day. Like the great man he is, he got them ready, took them to school, picked them up, fed them breakfast and lunch. He did all of this without complaining. He even found time to fix my parent's car and do some cleaning. He is amazing right?

Well somehow I made it through our meeting with our case worker (who is awesome btw), but the second she left I knew I needed to go to the ER. My mom took me to the hospital, and they took me back right away. The doctor began pushing on my stomach (which made me want to cry), and he ordered a CT scan. I had to drink this NASTY lemonade contrast stuff which was horrible, and had me begging for anti nausea medicine. I had to drink the 32 oz of contrast in an hour give or take 5 min.... no more no less. After that I had to wait 30 min before I could be taken back. Meanwhile they pumped a whole bag full of fluid into me in less than 30 min. Plus they took 4 vials of blood :(. So I went in for the CT the did 2 scans then they put some IV contrast in, and I had 2 more scans. After another hour of waiting they informed me that I have appendicitis. It is not too bad yet, so they decided not to do surgery tonight. If it doesn't get better, or if the pain gets worse I have to go right in.

Say some prayer for me please. I think a surgery a year for the past 7 years is enough.... I'm really not wanting to make it 8 surgeries in 8 years :(

  1. Oh no! You need a break from surgeries! Your expression says it all. I'll pray for you! Hope you are doing OK.
